IPL - Intense Pulsed Light

Every year, millions of patients visit the dermatologist office complaining of skin problems including fine lines and wrinkles, persistent red complexion, sun spots, acne scars, large pores and other blemishes. Various treatments, including microdermabrasion, chemical peels and laser resurfacing have been used to improve these conditions. Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a new, non-ablative technique to treat the above described conditions and is also called photorejuvenation.

IPL technology employs a broad spectrum of light energy in a range of wavelengths. IPL supplies high levels of light power in millisecond bursts. Due to the nature of treatment, intense pulsed light energy can be applied to the sub-surface skin layers for gentle & gradual results with reduced side effects & patient downtime.

IPL serves two main purposes:

1. Skin Rejuvenation
2. Hair Removal

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) - Skin Rejuvenation:

IPL emits 5 different lights at the same time, these lights go into different layers of the skin therefore dealing with multiple problems at the same time as rejuvenating the skin.

As the skin rejuvenation is dealt with from the sub-surface skin layer upwards results (with the proper skin care) tend to be long term.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) - Hair Removal:

When the IPL light hits the hair frolic when it is in the growth cycle it will kill off the hair frolic and that hair is removed. When the IPL light hits the hair frolic when it is not in the growth cycle then the hair will fall out after a few days, but it will grow back but finer and slower.

Hair Removal can be treated on Whole Face and body e.g. bikini line, underarms, whole legs etc …
